Holly Cow that thing is huge!
It seems like theyd spend a little more time making the controller feel not so cheap,
especially with the price tag of that kit

you know i would have figured the Traxxas guys being Texans that theyd make it look like an american car instead of some sort of ferrari. Still not really interested in it. seems like too much money to pay for just the fact that it does 100mph. for that price it should at least make me a sammich or something.

it looks a lot cheaper than it does in their professional pictures on their site. not that i was interested in spending my money on one anyway, but now i'm even less interested. i would absolutely love to drive one, and if someone gave me one it would be killer, but i won't be spending my money on it.

I think if I had the room and the money I would get one, I am interested in the pan after seeing these pics. it is designed that way to allow air to flow through and make a down force to keep her planted?

Should of took a pic of the pinion, i wanna see how big it is.

Then they lose their selling point. The object of this car is not to be just another release... but to be the release of a car capable of doing 100MPH out of the box. There are a lot of people out there who don't have the technical know how to do it, and they want to bring that niche to the mainstream.

Plus, Traxxas (at least from what I have seen) has NEVER sold a kit or roller. Ever.

A lot of people have this affinity to castle... and I'm beginning to as well as my ESC's have been going up in smoke lately...

But when it comes down to it only those few and far between speed demons know how to make an RC car go 100+. And it's not an easy feat. Traxxas designed this vehicle to do so reliably.... and while I'm not entirely sure about the ESC... In my opinion, they actually did something right here.

All this coming from someone who is an HPI/Losi fanboy.

I think that there is a valid point, to an extent, with Brock though.

Part of that higher price are things that some will not want. Like the lipos. There is a lot of greatness packed in that box but that greatness puts it at a 5th scale price almost. Its a lot to chew for some and Traxxas is traditionally more of an affordable company with a few minor exceptions. And where there are exceptions, like the BL Revo, there is a brushed version to compensate.

I agree on the selling point. It is what is separating them from the fray and other 1/7/ 1/8th scale cars and the cool factor. They need that to keep that edge.

Either way, I guess if you want one then you will pony up the cash. If you want a roller then hit ebay. There are always people taking new, parting it out, and tossing it up on there to sell to their advantage.

Well, I also see Brock's point as well. Not everyone wants a Traxxas LiPo.. I mean if I bought the kit, I don't want those LiPos.. I don't have an iPhone or iPod.. so I don't want the new controller... I just want the car. So I can completely understand Brock's point. And with price as well.

I mean releasing the XO-1 as a roller though... I don't think it would sell well at all... But that's my opinion.
