Hello all. Returning to the hobby due to recent interest from my kids. Used to race buggy's and planes years ago, but got out of sport after I started driving... (all my $ started going to bigger cars!! :-P ) I've spent the last few months just trying to reacquaint myself with how much the hobby has grown. Wow... drifting, crawling, bashing... it's amazing to see how far it's come in the last 20 years. I remember when Tamiya was IT!!! I was reminiscing with my daughter about when I did my first motor swap in my Nikko Rhino buggy and I thought that thing was greased lighting (probably 30+ mph)... now I can grab some lipo's and a MMM brushless kit and do 60+... unreal!! Definitely had some catching up to do. It's been like drinking from a fire hydrant! As for rebuilding my RC garage, I've finally made my mind up on a Traxxas Summit for now, as it brings a nice blend of "go anywhere" without being too fast to handle. (LOL, it's been a while since I've driven these, so no Savage Flux's yet). Unfortunately, I fear I'll be purchasing a short course truck very soon... (ugghh, more $$$) as the thought of track racing again makes me all gooey and warm inside. I absolutely love the scalers, and I'm blown away by how lifelike some of these rigs are. Amazing! As for the Summit, the only plans are deciding on a new body (not a huge fan of the stock one) and paintjob, and a few upgrades to the chassis. I'd love to combine some scale look to the Summit as well, perhaps with a Tamiya Tundra body. Love how real that thing looks. Anyhow, glad to be here and looking forward to talking to everyone as I dive head first off a cliff into RC madness again! Thanks, Todd
